With the acquisition of this specially shielded BRUKER 600MHz AVANCE II+ NMR spectrometer, equipped with an automated sample handling line, LipoFIT is now enabled to process even large scale medical or pharmaceutical studies with several thousand samples within a short period of time. By the way, the processing power of more than 20 desktop computers is needed to evaluate the huge amounts of data produced by the NMR-system.
The device, weighing 1.2 tons was installed on February, 19th 2007. After filling with liquid Nitrogen and Helium, the superconducting magnet was activated. It now produces one of the most powerful magnetic fields used worldwide. The installation of this powerful analytic device was able to excite great interest from medical research, research institutes and private enterprises in the Regensburg area.
